“I was 22 and working for a bank when I made a plan to be able to “retire” at 30. Late one evening, after a less than average day at the office, I caught a taxi home and was fortunate enough to have “John” as my taxi driver. From our conversation, I was inspired to change my life and thinking forever. “John” suggested that I read the book, “Rich Dad, Poor Dad”, written by Robert Kiyosaki…which I did.

Soon after, I left my bank job and started a mortgage broking business with the intention of helping people, and I was on a mission to build a property portfolio of my own.

At 25, I bought my first house, for my grandparents (with a whopping $72,000 loan!), and I stressed every day for the first month over how I would ever pay the loan back.

At 33, I have more than $5 million in net assets. This might not be a lot of money to some of you, but it is for a girl who only had $10,000 in the bank at 25, and who was raised in a family who didn’t own a house, car or a TV.
